Leadership donors play a central role in our ability to guide and fund innovative initiatives addressing some of the most seemingly intractable social problems facing our region. By making United Way of the Bay Area a philanthropic priority over the years, Leadership donors have made it possible for hundreds of thousands of local residents to improve their lives.

We invite you to support this important work at one of the following levels:

• $1,000 - $9,999: Leadership Donor
• $10,000 or more: Tocqueville Society Donor

The Bank of America Leadership Challenge.

There is an opportunity to double your gift because Bank of America, for the 10th year in a row, will match dollar-for-dollar the first $500,000 of new or increased contributions at the Leadership and Tocqueville Society levels.

Additional giving options.

• Personal Giving Accounts (PGA). This type of account provides many of the benefits of a private foundation—without the associated costs. Your charitable contributions are tax-deductible at the time you make them and can be dispersed at any time during the calendar year. The Personal Giving Account offers convenience and simplified record-keeping.

• Tax-advantaged gifts. You may experience tax benefits by contributing appreciated securities and mutual funds through United Way.
• United Way also offers a variety of planned giving options to help optimize your estate planning. Contributors who include United Way of the Bay Area in their wills or estate plans are recognized as members of the Legacy Circle.
