United Way's Week of Caring Expands to Become Summer of Impact

United Way is leading a movement to cut Bay Area poverty in half by 2020. To accomplish our ambitious goal, we’re expanding our Week of Caring tradition into a summer-long initiative with community partners focusing more directly on poverty-cutting work. We are shifting our focus on deeper impact rather than a large number of projects.

The Summer of Impact will kick off on United Way Worldwide’s Day of Action on June 21 and will culminate with a week of volunteer events the week of September 8th.

We’re matching volunteers with targeted projects where they can make the greatest contribution to cutting poverty. In the sidebar to the right, you will see a few examples of ways that your team can get involved.
