Nation-wide food drive helps those facing food insecurity
United Way’s Summer of Impact is simple: we connect the generosity of our corporate partners with the expertise of our incredible community partners. A common request from our community partners is for food donations. This comes as no surprise to us, considering the vast difference between the cost of living and the average salary in the Bay Area.
Our partner Ware Malcomb responded to the call for food donations by hosting a 2-week long food drive across 22 of their offices. “Having each of our 22 offices involved with the local United Way chapters emulates the interconnectedness of our firm. Partnering with United Way has been a seamless integration into our philanthropy efforts,” said Ware Malcomb’s CEO Lawrence R. Armstrong.
The Bay Area offices alone donated over 260 pounds of food! We will deliver this incredible amount of donations to our partners and make sure that fewer of our community members go to bed hungry tonight.
