In partnership since 1946, We've worked together with the AFL-CIO to support and operate the Community Services Program throughout the United States. In 2012, Mayor Ed Lee answered President Obama’s call to create more opportunities for youth employment, and created the Mayor’s Youth Jobs+ initiative. United Way Bay Area is proud to partner with the Mayor, on this important work. The NFL works with United Way to support youth through their social emotional learning program, the NFL Character Playbook. This important curriculum educates students on how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships during their critical middle school years, and is available for free to any Bay Area school. As part of these efforts, we co-host an annual event called Character Playbook Live where players digitally engage with youth on various topics.Learn more about our Character Playbook program
