United Way Bay Area Helps Launch Retirement Savings Program
January 15, 2019
CalSavers offers California workers an easy way to save for retirement.
In November 2018, UWBA helped launch CalSavers, a pilot program that will offer an estimated 7 million workers in California the opportunity to contribute to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and get on track for the future. CalSavers is designed to give Californians an easy and simple way to save for retirement.
Through CalSavers, businesses with five or more employees, that don’t already offer a retirement option, will facilitate a retirement savings program without any administrative headaches or fees. The program will finally put millions of Californians on the path to a more secure retirement by allowing them to make automatic payroll deductions to a portable retirement savings account.
