Would an Unexpected Expense Ruin Your Summer?

Over $500. That’s what it takes to prepare a single K-12 student for the start of a new school year. For many of our Bay Area families already living paycheck to paycheck, the start of the school year brings financial pressures many of us never have to consider. When an unexpected expense, like a car repair, is added in, our neighbors can quickly find there simply isn’t enough money to cover it all.

Support That Changes Lives

The support from United Way Bay Area has allowed me to have something to fall back on and has allowed me to have funds for when things come up, like car trouble. It has alleviated a lot of survival stress for me to get back on my feet. I have a long way to go but I don’t know what things would have been like if I didn’t receive this. Now that I have a steady job, I am working towards saving for emergencies.”
