Over 600,000 Bay Area Households Struggle to Meet Basic Needs

We envision a Bay Area where all people have the opportunities and resources needed to thrive. Our programs provide immediate and long-term resources to fight poverty through four pillars: basic needs, employment and career opportunities, financial stability and housing justice. After 100 years of serving the Bay Area, we know we cannot do this work without your support. Join us in making an impact on the lives of our neighbors and donate today.

Meet Jorge

When his son was born with cerebral palsy, Jorge didn’t hesitate to quit his job and care for him. But when his son sadly passed away, Jorge and his wife faced not only the heartbreaking loss of their child but also the financial strain from the loss of Jorge's income as a caregiver. Fearing they might lose their home; Jorge found the Emergency Assistance Network (EAN). EAN helped them catch up on rent payments to make sure they remained housed during this difficult time. With EAN support, Jorge was able to find employment again, and he and his family slowly put their life back together.

By donating to United Way Bay Area you are helping to fund initiatives like EAN which provides assistance to individuals and families during emergencies, when they need it most. Give today to help more Bay Area neighbors like Jorge.
