Help support a complete and accurate count of our communities! The 2020 Census wraps up on September 30 and we are making a final push towards ensuring everyone is included.

UWBA is seeking volunteers who can help conduct outreach to households in low-responding neighborhoods. The goal is to inform them of what to expect when Census Takers visit their homes and to encourage them to respond to the census on their own if they are able.
Phone banking
- Requirements: Ages 15+, access to a phone that can download the Census PDI app (training provided), access to a calling device (volunteers will be using their own phone numbers). Multilingual speakers a plus!
- Time Commitment: Flexible schedule – we can accommodate as little or as much time as you can give, when you can give it!
- Training: Watch a 30-minute pre-recorded virtual training video.
- Assignment: Volunteers will be provided with phone scripts and phone numbers. When possible, volunteers will be assigned call areas within their county.
No-knock canvassing with door-hangers
- Requirements: Ages 15+, physical ability to walk through neighborhoods, climb stairs; commitment to public health and safety protocols; ability to curbside pick up canvassing materials (including PPE) from downtown San Francisco. No in-person interaction is required – the main goal is to leave the doorhangers but there may be opportunities to safely interact with residents from a distance.
