Board Nominations

At United Way Bay Area (UWBA), we welcome your suggestions as we build the strongest possible Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors focuses on governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and overall strategy. This year, the Board will expand from 9 to 15 members.

We are seeking candidates who can help us better reflect the diversity of experiences, perspectives, and demographics across our eight-county region. All nominations are welcome, and we are especially prioritizing candidates who:

• Brings experience in finance, fundraising, marketing, legal, or strategic planning on a nonprofit board
• Leads a nonprofit or labor organization aligned with UWBA’s focus areas
• Works in the technology or biotechnology sector
• Works in the public sector (e.g., County government or Community College)
• Has lived experience with UWBA programs
• Lives and/or works in Napa, Marin, Solano, Contra Costa, or Santa Clara Counties
• Identifies as a woman or non-binary
• Identifies as Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and/or Asian/Pacific Islander
• Identifies as LGBTQ+
