San Francisco, CA. – On October 10, 2022, United Way Bay Area with Women United held its 3rd annual Brunch & Ballots event. What began virtually at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, was this year held in person for the first time at the law offices of Hanson Bridgett LLP.
Women United is a group with a “collective passion for fighting poverty around the Bay Area and a unique focus on SparkPoint and advocacy work.” Brunch & Ballots was a time when elected officials, UWBA ambassadors, and the public, could come together to both hear the impact current support initiatives and programs are having, but also discuss how to turn those initiatives into policy that can help all Bay Area residents.
During this very special election year, UWBA welcomed our special guest speaker, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, to speak about what’s on the 2022 ballot and the importance of voting in this moment.
