UNITED WAY BAY AREA GRANTS

Please note that UWBA is not accepting unsolicited requests for funds at this time. We are committed to sharing new information and resources with our Bay Area nonprofit community.

United Way Bay Area provides grants to our program partners for programs such as SparkPoint, Earn It! Keep It! Save It!, and the Emergency Assistance Network (EAN). To be eligible for a grant through these programs, you must be an existing partner. Occasionally, we start a community fund that is available to any eligible organization to apply. These funds are generally dedicated to specific relief efforts or projects in the community. An example of a specific relief effort is our COVID-19 Community Relief Fund. This fund helped distribute over $4.8 million to more than 130 organizations.

NATIONAL EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM (EFSP) FUNDS

Interested in applying for EFSP funds through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program? Tax-exempt, nonprofit, or local government entities providing food and shelter services may be eligible to seek EFSP funds to be used in the Bay Area. Requests for proposals are issued annually, with timelines varying by county. Proposals, applications, and forms will be uploaded as they become available.
