MEET OUR ADVISORY COUNCIL

In everything we do, we are working to build a strong, vibrant, and healthy Bay Area where neighbors work together to create opportunities for all. Our powerhouse Board of Directors and Advisory Council members embody this vision. Carefully cultivated from all sectors of our community, this distinguished group of leaders invests their time, passion, and resources to fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in the Bay Area. We could not do what we do without their strategic guidance and support, and we hold ourselves accountable to you and them.

The Advisory Council ensures that United Way Bay Area has broad representation, insights, and perspectives from our eight-county Greater Bay Area region and includes members from our volunteers, supporters/donors, community partners, labor movement and people with lived experience with United Way programs and services. The Advisory Council, which can have up to 40 members, provides guidance on fundraising and community impact and reports to our Board of Directors. Meetings are held every 4 months, plus one additional meeting, for a total of 4 times per year.

If you have an interest in being considered for open positions on our Advisory Council, or you would like to nominate a candidate, please review the expectations and commitments of our Advisory Council. After review, please submit the nomination for consideration.
