OnTrack: Advancing Career Pathways for Bay Area Youth

This year's OnTrack is on June 18, 2026 at San Francisco State University

Each year, United Way Bay Area hosts OnTrack, a career exploration experience designed to connect Bay Area youth with meaningful opportunities, industry exposure, and supportive networks.

OnTrack brings together employers, community partners, and volunteers to help young people build confidence, explore career pathways, and take tangible steps toward their future.

While participation in the event itself is coordinated directly with partner organizations, there are still powerful ways to get involved.

Why OnTrack Matters

OnTrack is more than a single-day event—it’s part of a broader effort to expand economic mobility across the Bay Area.

Through hands-on career exploration, mentorship, and real-world exposure, OnTrack helps youth:

  • Discover career pathways aligned with their interests
  • Build professional and interpersonal skills
  • Connect with employers and community leaders
  • Envision and pursue long-term economic stability

This work is only possible through the support of volunteers and partners who invest their time, expertise, and resources.

Get Involved with OnTrack

Even if you’re not attending the event as a participant, there are two critical ways to contribute:

Volunteer at OnTrack

Support youth directly by helping facilitate activities, guiding participants, and ensuring a smooth event experience.

Volunteers play a key role in:

  • Creating a welcoming and supportive environment
  • Assisting with career exploration activities
  • Encouraging and mentoring participants
